Ella's 5th Birthday Party

Ella wanted a "Fairy" Party.  She invited 5 friends over, and of course had her cousins (including the boys).  They first got greeted by Tinkerbell (Rosie).  then, they got to dress like a Fairy (complete with Fairy Dust necklaces, rings, wings, and homeade skirts out of Tulle.  They painted their nails, drew pictures on huge paper (because they are small), painted fairy houses (bird houses), had fairy treats (watermelon cut into a star on the end of a skewer for a wand, cake, blueberries etc..), and then finally got to get pictures with Tinkerbell.  Ella had so much fun.  She didn't keep her Fairy outfit on very long (just like Ella), but her big Brother Payton and cousin Junior did.  Goofballs.  The glass jar with the fairy dust (silver glitter) didn't make it very long either (well, at least a few days).  Even still, it was a very fun afternoon with family and friends.

Backyard remodel

Just when you think your backyard is not coming together after much blood,  sweat and tears, you find picture proof that you are making progress - and a ton of it at that!  2014 has been knighted the "year of the yard".  We wanted to make our yard into a beautiful, productive, edible place to live.  Statistics so far:

• 5 dead trees cut down
• In ground trampoline with 7 foot set up for sub teranian garden installed
• Cement path installed that circles a good portion of the yard
• Installed watering system
• Rock and stone pathways installed
• New grass planted
• Moved 600 pound + boulders from the neighbors yard into ours (Ok Jeremy and Miles did) 
• Tons of produce started including:

• 10 + new trees planted (lemon, lime, blood orange, apples, peach, fig etc..)
• Peppers
• Cucumbers
• Raddishes
• Pumpkins
• Sunflowers
• Basil
• tomatoes
• sage
• mint
• thyme
• Amaranth 
• and much more to come!  (watch for Grow boxes, chicken coop, more animals etc...)

Primary Talent Show

Two amazing performances at the Primary Talent Show last weekend!

1) "Beautiful", sung by Payton, Owen and Ella (accompanied by Miles)
